Adele

Adele performing live in 2009

Adele‘s voice has been a huge success for her this year with her album, “21” being the best selling CD in the United States with over 4 million units sold. Her voice has also been a huge amount of trouble for her as well.

In June she had to cancel concerts due to laryngitis. Then, in early October, she canceled a run of U.S. concerts due to a repeated vocal chord hemorrhage. At that time she wrote to her fans:

“If I continue to pick up everything before I have properly conquered these problems and nipped them in the bud, I will be totally and utterly fucked. Singing is literally my life, it’s my hobby, my love, my freedom and now my job. I have absolutely no choice but to recuperate properly and fully, or I risk damaging my voice forever.”

Unfortunately, her vocal problems persisted, and now, according to Rolling Stone Magazine, she will need to go under the knife to fix the problem. Hopefully there is not too much to fear though. The surgery is supposed to be pretty non-invasive, and it has also helped other singers such as Steven Tyler, Graham Nash and Elton John in the past. So, hopefully Adele will be back out on the road doing what she loves once again very soon.

We wish you the best recovery, Adele!

This past Tuesday, Steven Tyler was rushed to a hospital in Paraguay where he underwent treatment for a busted lip, cut forehead, and two broken front teeth. Steven has been in South America with Aerosmith on a tour where they have broken house attendance records. Although there has been some speculation that Steven has fallen off the wagon and has started drinking again, he assures everyone that his fall was just a result of dehydration from food poisoning. As Steven says:

“Frankly, I just passed out. I was in the shower and I got nauseous and I started to get sick and I just fell on my face. I just passed out and woke up with the water on.”

The guy is a performer though… Even with his busted lip and broken teeth, he still managed to play the harmonica at following shows.
