Adele‘s voice has been a huge success for her this year with her album, “21” being the best selling CD in the United States with over 4 million units sold. Her voice has also been a huge amount of trouble for her as well.

In June she had to cancel concerts due to laryngitis. Then, in early October, she canceled a run of U.S. concerts due to a repeated vocal chord hemorrhage. At that time she wrote to her fans:

“If I continue to pick up everything before I have properly conquered these problems and nipped them in the bud, I will be totally and utterly fucked. Singing is literally my life, it’s my hobby, my love, my freedom and now my job. I have absolutely no choice but to recuperate properly and fully, or I risk damaging my voice forever.”

Unfortunately, her vocal problems persisted, and now, according to Rolling Stone Magazine, she will need to go under the knife to fix the problem. Hopefully there is not too much to fear though. The surgery is supposed to be pretty non-invasive, and it has also helped other singers such as Steven Tyler, Graham Nash and Elton John in the past. So, hopefully Adele will be back out on the road doing what she loves once again very soon.

We wish you the best recovery, Adele!
