If you are a Green Day fan then you probably heard about them taking the stage at New York City’s Irving Plaza to deliver a career spanning 40-song set last month. Well, now you can check out the last 20-odd minutes of the concert. The footage kicks off with Dookie‘s, “Burnout.” Then, the band cruised through other fan favorites like “Hitchin’ a Ride,” “Letterbomb,” “She,” and finally the awesome “American Idiot” as the closer. Neil Young & Crazy Horse have released the 17-minute video for “Ramada Inn”, from their new album Psychedelic Pill out October 30 on CD and November 23 on triple vinyl. Watch the full clip below. As announced on JamBase, a full fidelity version of the album will be released on Blu-ray and will include all the videos.

Terrapin Crossroads

Phil Lesh has announced the first Halloween party at Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael, performing alongside Rob BarracoBarry SlessJohn Molo, and Peter Rowan. The Terrapin House Band will include Grahame Lesh, Brian Lesh, Ross James and Scott Padden for an evening of music and fun.

Since the Grate Room will be closed for refurbishing, the party is moving over to the restaurant part of the building. For $75, fans will get a buffet dinner, late night snacks, non-stop music, contests, a collectable signed poster, and more.

Are you ready for this year’s annual Bridge School Benefit? The Bridge School Benefit is an annual non-profit charity concert held in Mountain View, California every October at the Shoreline Amphitheatre. The concerts are all organized by musician Neil Young and his wife, Pegi Young. Proceeds benefit The Bridge School. The first concert was in October 1986, and, with the exception of 1987, the concert has been held every year since. As a practice, but not a rule, the performers use acoustic instruments. Young also personally performs every year.

This year, the concert will be held on October 20, 2012 at 5pm and October 21, 2012 at 2pm. Information about ticket sales, pricing, seating charts, parking, etc. can be found on the Live Nation site.

Neil Young & Crazy Horse have released the video for “Walk Like A Giant”, the lead single from their forthcoming album, Psychedelic Pill, out October 30 via Reprise Records. While the track is over sixteen minutes on the record, it’s been trimmed to only four and a half minutes in the official clip. Check it out below:

Primus is excited to be on a unique 3D tour this Fall, featuring two sets per evening. Apparently, this is the first-ever traveling 3D enhanced live musical performance. This groundbreaking tour is sure to provide a one-of-a-kind psychedelic experience, further enhanced by the fact that every show will also feature Quad Surround Sound. Primus will bring its psychedelic 3D show to the state of California for a holiday stint that begins in San Diego at the Balboa Theater on Dec 27, returning to the Wiltern in Los Angeles on Dec. 29 and two nights at San Francisco’s Warfield Theater on Dec 30 and 31. These shows will also feature the super fancy surround sound as well.

I know it’s last minute, but word on the street is that one of Les Claypool‘s new projects, Duo de Twang will be playing two very special acoustic shows soon. On October 4 the Duo should be playing at Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael, CA and then they should be playing again on Oct 6 at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. Joining Les as part of the Duo de Twang should be his old pal Marc “Mirv” Haggard.

I love these guys since they used to play at parties I went to in the hills around Santa Cruz years ago. The Devil Makes Three have begun their Fall 2012 tour. The Santa Cruz, CA trio are traveling quite a bit September through November as they make their way across the country. This tour closes up an incredible year for the band, including an amazing Summer playing at some great festivals including Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, and High Sierra Music Festival.

Word is that right after this tour the band will be heading back into the studio to begin work on a follow up album to the critically acclaimed Do Wrong Right. Be prepared to hear some tunes from the new album while they are out on this Fall tour, and be sure to follow up with Music Sumo News often to hear more about the new album as details emerge.
