This was an awesome night since Living Colour played their whole Vivid album from front to back. “Cult Of Personality” was one of my favorite rock songs growing up so I always love seeing it performed, and on this night Living Colour did not disappoint. They play together pretty rarely these days so if you get a chance to see them, do it!!

Furthur Backs Out Of BottleRock

According to many news sources including the Bay Areas renown SFGate, Furthur will not be playing at Napa, CA’s BottleRock Festival on opening night. No other replacement has been announced at this time. According to Bob Weir‘s website:
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Furthur regretfully will be unable to appear as scheduled at BottleRock Napa Valley on Thursday, May 9. Grateful Dead & Furthur Co-Founder Bob Weir, is unable to perform in any capacity for the next several weeks. Bob looks forward to resuming his “Weir Here” broadcasts from TRI Studios in mid to late June and performing his Solo acoustic shows June 26-30. Furthur featuring Phil Lesh & Bob Weir look forward to returning to the road as scheduled on July 11 in Brooklyn for their Summer tour, which carries them through early October on the West Coast.”

Next month you just might be able to get the chance to catch Prince at an intimate venue like the 700-capacity DNA Lounge in San Francisco. The news comes to us via the fansite Drfunkenberry.com in a podcast recorded with Prince’s backing band 3rd Eye Girl. It appears that Prince will stage multi-night stands in seven different cities along the West Coast with an early show and late show scheduled for each night. Ticket information will be announced soon according to the fansite.

The Boston, MA based punk band the Dropkick Murphys seem to be on an unrelenting tour schedule these days. They just finished their “Road to St. Patty’s Day” tour, and they are already making plans to go out again later this Spring. Primus began hyping up the 3D-enhanced aspects of their tour plans months ago when the band announced their Fall leg. Unfortunately, the adventure pretty much stayed East of The Rockies.
The new leg includes markets missed on the Fall journey, but before the band heads for the tourâs first stop at BottleRock Napa Valley in Napa, CA in May, it has three gigs in Mexico City at Auditorio Blackberry March 11-13. Those shows follow an appearance at the BUKU Music + Art Project in New Orleans March 8.
